How to Read the bible: resources & Extras

The Bible is a wonderful, beautiful, and (if we're being honest) confusing book. It contains some of the greatest stories, moral advice, and life giving wisdom while at the very same time it can be complicated, startling, and hard to understand. What do we do with this wonderfully strange book? How do we read it? How do we engage with it in ways that lead us into a deeper relationship with Jesus? In our series, How to Read the Bible, we’re exploring exactly that, how we read the Bible in ways that lead us into deeper relationship with Jesus, self, and one another.

How to read the Bible is a big topic though and so here, we’ve compiled additional resources to help you on your Bible reading journey.

Sunday Call to Worship

With our whole heart we seek you;

And we treasure your word in our heart,

Blessed are you, O LORD;

Teach us your statutes.

all the ordinances of your mouth.

We delight in the way of your decrees

as much as in all riches.

We will meditate on your precepts,

and fix our eyes on your ways.

We will delight in your statutes;

We will not forget your word.

Amen

(adapted from Psalm 119)
